I went to a non-JW funeral once and they played Louis Armstrong - It's a wonderful world. Seemed OK to me even though I'm not a fan his.

yesterday was the day my family went out to the cemetary in my dad's home town to clean up the headstone and leave flowers and such.
now this town is small and rural.
afterwards we went back to the community center for the annual potluck.

(though i already know the answer for some people).
Active - just. Born in, now mid 60's, baptised nearly 50 yrs ago. Now trapped in for the present due to family. Given up on TMS and not really regular in FS. Used to be very active. Woke up a couple of years ago when I surfed the net!

i'm referring to the actual number of "anointed christians.
" the total limit is 144,000, no more, no less.
then it's a sealed deal and armageddon can proceed.
Better yet, is there an actual tally kept at Bethel?
From what I understand no tally is kept. When one of the anointed dies Bethel is not informed. You are quite correct about the number however, well over 144,000 must have had the hope even in modern times plus all those over the past 2000 years.
Interestingly I was told a couple of years ago that the GB privately believe there are less than 2000 REAL anointed left on earth. In other words they think that more than 4 out of every 5 participants are FRAUDS!

hi, i have just put a couple of books up for sale on ebay.
one is the elders manual.
should i expect any flack for selling it?.
A new elders manual came up recently here in U.K. BUY-IT-NOW for £30 or make an offer. It eventually went for £15.
Why pay good money for something you can read on-line? I suppose it would be worth more if it had all the 'hand written notes' in it.

just uploaded page 2...not 1 or 3 as they are of no interest.. this talk is only given by gb members or branch committee members.
enjoy.
N H Barbout had a magazine called Herald of the Morning. It got into financial difficulties and C T Russell put money in and became Assistant Editor but left in May 1879. I think the following month the paper folded. I understand C T left as he was not made Editor, though the WTS say it was due to difference of opinion on the ransom.

i keep staring at the bookshelf full of wt literature in my house and keep having visions of a red-orange glow as the flames crawl higher and higher.
my goal is to gather it all together, douse it with lighter fluid, and watch it go!.
ultimately, i dream of my wife being the one who strikes the match and joins me in the celebration.. has anyone had that experience?
Maybe I'm just mean. I have a fantasy about selling it all on E-Bay! After all, a lot of it pre-dates the free literature times.

from http://christianwitnesses.com/, i read the following below.
please what is your reaction to the action of the two elders?
if the account is colloborated, then its very troubling and shocking to say the least.
Correct me if I'm wrong; but weren't we able to buy another translation of the Bible from the literature counter at one time? Was it the Living English Bible?
I have a BYINGTON translation that I got from KH many years ago. The WTS bought the manuscript which had not been previously published and they published it completely unaltered. They also used to sell the Emphatic Diaglott.

Student talks for some weeks recently taken from 'Reasoning' book used other translations widely, especially Jerusalem Bible.
